This weekend we went to the speed skating world cup. It's nice that we can see lots of international events near our house. As the Olympics were here in 1988 the facilities are still used for the national teams and the hosting of international competitions. The Olympic Oval is where there are many speed skating competitions. It is said to have the fastest ice in the world. This was evident as we saw a world record set by the Japanese Team Pursuit team. We were excited to see Nao Kodaira compete but unfortunately she fell during her race. She is favored to get a medal at the next Olympics. Here is a picture of the Japanese team waving at us after the set the new world record.
